Okay, so now that I can think about it without seeing red and feeling pure rage, a week ago, I was involved in a hit and run car accident (yes, another car accident wtf?). Honestly, it was a glorified fender bender and the dude was an idiot to drive off like that, but what can you do. Hylke and I were just leaving the gym, sitting in the parking lot waiting to pull out into traffic when some dude in a pick-up truck just started backing out of his spot and his trailer hitch made a nice little crunch in my car.

So anyways, we got out and the dude was like, “Oh my god, I’m so sorry, hey, we’re blocking traffic, pull up into a parking spot and we’ll exchange information.” So like a total dumbass, I believed him (and honestly, we were blocking traffic), and pulled around to a parking spot. I got out of my car just in time to see him drive off, but luckily, not before we got his license plate number.

Wednesday morning, I met with my insurance adjuster and someone from a repair shop, and as soon as the police report is ready (not yet *grumble*), we can drop the car off to be repaired and they’ll cover a rental. It’s drivable right now, just kinda crunched on the passenger side. They said it would take 4 to 5 days to fix, which isn’t so bad.

The cop who came out was a total douche, he acted like he was bored the whole time and might have said two sentences to me and then just got in his car and drove off. Hylke and I were both kinda like, “um, wtf?”. Sorry for totally wasting your precious time with a hit and run dude. OH COPS.

I just joined a gym. I start Saturday.
So after getting over what was probably the most sick I have ever been in my life and getting massively behind due to missing two days of work in the process, the universe apparently decided that it wasn't done fucking with me yet.

At around 1:20 or so on Friday (yes, my birthday), Hylke called me to say that he had been in a another accident. The brakes that we though were fixed back in November when we took it to the mechanic failed when he was driving in town, and he rear ended the person in front of him.

Luckily she was really nice about it. Our insurance will take care of her car, I'm just dreading what our premiums are going to go up to. Our car however, was totaled. It would cost three times what the car is worth to fix it and that would only be fixing the body and engine damage the crash caused, not even getting into fixing what actually made the car crash. So, yeah. I just sold it for scrap for $300 (minus of course, the $150 tow *grumbles*) and we're looking into used cars on the market.

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!

Sunday, during Hylke's soccer game, be somehow managed to get a pretty harsh blow to the face. We spent the next few hours in the E.R. while he got some sort of scans to see if anything was fractured or if there was any bleeding. The doctor said no fractures or excessive bleeding, and so he let us go with a prescription for vicodin for the pain and a warning saying that the swelling and bruising would get worse before it got better and that it will take quite a while to heal. Sure enough, it looks terrible. Those are from today.

I'm sure next weekend we'll get hit by a meteor and our apartment will be flattened. Or something.

Anyways, I'm exhausted and work of course was good times trying to play catch up from missing half the week, dealing with Geico, trying to arrange to get the car sold, fetching medicine for Hylke and generally being frazzled.

So…. I can’t feel half my face.

My dentist office called yesterday and said they had a cancellation at 10:00 this morning and asked if I wanted to go ahead and bump up my appointment, which I agreed to just to get it over with.

It is now half past noon and I still can’t feel half my face. The procedure itself only took about 30 to 45 minutes, but I needed another shot of anesthesia midway through (after they gave me two at the start) because I could feel the drilling. The dentist said it was deeper than he thought it would be because of its otherwise small size, but still nothing bad. So at least it’s done now. I panicked a bit when I first saw the anesthesia shot because damn, those needles are already sinister, and you’re pretty much helpless lying back in that chair like that, but otherwise, not too bad. Except for that bit where I could feel the drilling.

I went to the dentist this morning and they said they found a small cavity on my back molar. I was just in for my normal cleaning and check up when they found it. I guess the only good thing is that they said it was still quite small, which makes sense since I've not had any discomfort or anything. I don't know how it happened, since its not like I neglect my teeth or anything. I go back in a week to get it filled, WHICH I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO.
Yeah, I was in another car accident today. Hylke was driving, I was in the passenger seat, and we were driving down a normal highway here (as in, one lane each direction, blah blah) when the person in front of us slowed down and pulled over to the right onto the shoulder a bit. Then out of nowhere, swung back out around left like she was trying to do a U-turn. Yeah, our front passenger side (you know, where I was sitting) and her front driver side smashed together, and then we slid into the lane of oncoming traffic. Luckily, no one was coming from that way, but we did have traffic stopped for 45 minutes.

The other driver admitted fault, which will make things easier. I'm hoping that my car will be repaired soon and that her insurance will pay for a rental for me while this is happening.

I hurt. A lot. I'm also very cranky. Hylke says he feels fine, but we'll see tomorrow. I know from experience these can take a while. In an abundance of caution, he won't be playing soccer tomorrow like usual. I'm dreading waking up.
So I spent part of my evening drinking the last leftover bottle of champagne, watching a movie that was more gruesome and excessively violent than I thought it would be and then listening to a Bathory album that makes me slightly uncomfortable (Blood on Ice).

I usually don't keep my iPod headphones with me since I use my iPod for the apps (OMG FREE KINDLE APP YAY) instead of for listening to music. It seems however, that I cannot remember where I have stashed the headphones, and it annoys the hell out of me. Boo.

I will have to tear the apartment apart tonight looking for them.
